Insects Week 1

This week, we learned about insects! Here are some of the important things we talked about...

Our centers this week included learning about what makes an insect, reading and writing power words, spelling words with silent e endings, working on words with blends, and more.

In Reading, we listened to and discussed a book about the Moon.  We used the table of contents to preview the book and practiced wondering about the topic. We looked and diagrams and labels to help us build knowledge and purpose. Our vocabulary words this week included overhead, visible, face, and rough.

We are started to work during Writing about our opinions on various topics and trying to be convincing with our reasons.

We worked on long vowels this Phonics this week and practiced adding silent e's to the end of words. We read and wrote words with long vowels.  We also learned the power word "your".

In Science, we started talking about the seasons and the weather patterns we notice during each.
